Meet Aude Segers, our new Scientific and Academic Counsellor for Canada

 

With over a decade of experience in internationalising higher education and research in French-speaking Belgium, Aude has held key roles in mobility management, strategic internationalisation, and project coordination to strengthen the global reach of our institutions. Her expertise spans funding mechanisms and international partnerships, making her a valuable asset in fostering collaborations between Wallonia-Brussels and Canada.

 

Her priorities for 2025?

  • Facilitating sectoral networking and supporting European project development, partly in the context of Canada’s recent association to Horizon Europe. Key sectors include AI, cybersecurity, Industry 4.0, creative industries, sustainable mobility, clean energy, biotech, and aerospace.
  • Facilitating academic cooperation and removing migration-related barriers to enhance bilateral mobility between our regions. 

 

What drives her?
Connecting dots and people. Identifying synergies. Bringing people, information, expertise and funding together to create the most fertile environment for collaborations to flourish.

Aude is be based in Montreal, where she will strengthen ties between Wallonia's research and innovation ecosystem and key partners across the country.
