The Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) launches its call for projects from Quebec producers for the 8th edition of Atelier Grand Nord XR (AGN XR), which will take place in the Outaouais region from April 26 to May 1, 2024, followed by two days of company visits in Montreal on May 2 and 3 (program to be announced).
An offshoot of the traditional Atelier Grand Nord screenwriting workshop, but based on virtual reality, augmented reality or mixed reality, Atelier Grand Nord XR offers participants the unique opportunity to :
- discuss their projects with consultants,
- to encourage reflection on their respective works,
- encourage the sharing of ideas and viewpoints
- while making connections to foster peer collaboration on future productions or co-productions.
AGN XR brings together the French-speaking XR project development teams from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Quebec. Wallonia-Bruxelles International is pleased to be part of this program for 2024.

Target audience
- there must be 2 participants
- one participant must be a producer and one must be a member of the creative team.
- participants must be French speaking
Conditions de sélection des projets
- French-speaking Walloon and/or Brussels project
- Applicants must be French-speaking, from Wallonia-Brussels with a French-speaking base, and have their head office in Wallonia or Brussels.
- Demonstrate a narrative approach in the genres of fiction, animation or documentary
- Have a French version of the project
- Be in the development phase (artistic work and search for financing still ongoing in April 2024)
- Have confirmation of private (producer's share) or public financing.
- Preference will be given to teams with a solid track record in their field and to projects with strong potential for international co-production.
- All activities will be conducted in French only
The following are not eligible:
- Immersive installations or works that do not utilize XR technology are not eligible.
- Projects no longer in development as of April 2024
- Projects that do not involve a producer
- Projects that promote a service or product
- Video game projects
Conditions of participation
Transport (by plane and local transport) and accommodation (including accommodation and 3 meals per day during the workshop at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello and accommodation in Montreal) will be covered by Wallonie Bruxelles International.
Local transportation and accommodation will be the responsibility of SODEC, which will be in contact with the selected team.

Successful applicants will be notified by February 2024.

- A detailed presentation of the project (maximum 4 pages)
- Resumes of the director and project collaborators, with a complete list of previous creations (and those of project collaborators)
- CV of the producer with a complete list of previous productions
